Unofficial virgin, so probably treading old ground but.....

Brought in to keep us up and save JP's financial bacon, which he did. Kerching for JP.

Made some decent signings in Evans, Gibbs and Phillips but also played Julian Lescott at left back (one of the worst performances in the position I've ever seen).  Horrible football to watch and nearly killed my love of the game.   

Thankful that he did become so shit, for whatever reasons, so we had no option other than to bin him.  Shame it happened half a season too late and we then replaced with AFP. 

PS So glad BD is here now.
PSPS On the whole he's OK but "Franksy" can undoubtedly be a bit of a twat!

Frankly I’m WM last night said Pulis did a fantastic job at the Albion look at them now. Is he some kind of a Pratt or what . What do us dimwits think.

Pulis did a very good job overall, let's not re-invent history.  I would qualify that by saying that some of the tactics and formations and consequently performances were dire/mind-numbing, but until the Stoke draw at home, he was getting the results (well apart from the two previous season tail-offs).  

He kept us up, made some fantastic signings in the seasons before last, but couldn't seemingly motivate the players once we'd reached the safety margin. 

Last season, after the draw with Stoke, he couldn't pull out the results that he had previously been able to and I personally believe this was due to 'personal' reasons (he'd signed a 3 yr contract, needed the compo and saw the opportunity for a pay-day) and this shift in conviction/body language began to permeate the squad negatively.  Plus the fact that some of the signings,  particularly Krychowiak, began to polarise the squad plus the likes of Evans wanting out, Fletcher going and McAuley being bombed.

You seriously think he engineered a departure with the uncertainty of getting another decent job, in preference to trying to stay up and keep his job with a PL club for the foreseeable future?

Yes, once he could see the writing on the wall -  the 3 yr contract was a massive mistake given the Palarce debacle.
