He did the job asked for two seasons (and over achieved with the squad we had) the wheels came off in in his last season and he should have been sacked earlier. The end. RE: Paul Franks WM - Duffers - 01-29-2019 Ah, the first Pulis discussion of a new board... I would qualify that by saying that some of the tactics and formations and consequently performances were dire/mind-numbing, but until the Stoke draw at home, he was getting the results (well apart from the two previous season tail-offs). He kept us up, made some fantastic signings in the seasons before last, but couldn't seemingly motivate the players once we'd reached the safety margin. Last season, after the draw with Stoke, he couldn't pull out the results that he had previously been able to and I personally believe this was due to 'personal' reasons (he'd signed a 3 yr contract, needed the compo and saw the opportunity for a pay-day) and this shift in conviction/body language began to permeate the squad negatively. Plus the fact that some of the signings, particularly Krychowiak, began to polarise the squad plus the likes of Evans wanting out, Fletcher going and McAuley being bombed. The new contract was gift horse for him as was the pay off. RE: Paul Franks WM - MGalea - 01-29-2019 Some prick who claimed to be a scout for Man City told me the classic "You shouldve stuck with Pulis - he'd have kept you up". What a tit!! |
