This is a disaster strategy for a club in a relegation meltdown. Speaking to my Pompey mate today - they learned that lesson very quickly. Virtually all their loans are experienced Championship players. 

Also, it is noticeable that Millwall have signed Sunderland's keeper from last season, whereas we sign Bristol City's reserve goalkeeper who has so far made 3 mistakes in 2 games. Why weren't we in for him?

Gilchrist played nearly 30 games for a team who also finished in the Play Offs

Sometimes it works. 

I remember on CM 05-06ish, I joined a pal on his game and took control of baggies who were in the bottom 3 surprisingly. 

I picked up a couple of frees in Jan. 35 year old Milan Rapaic and another old French striker from PSG. And they kept me up.
