Signing Premier League Reserve Team Kids
#1
This is a disaster strategy for a club in a relegation meltdown. Speaking to my Pompey mate today - they learned that lesson very quickly. Virtually all their loans are experienced Championship players.

Also, it is noticeable that Millwall have signed Sunderland's keeper from last season, whereas we sign Bristol City's reserve goalkeeper who has so far made 3 mistakes in 2 games. Why weren't we in for him?

Absolutely shambolic.

Just being realistic, there's no one that we sign today that could make any difference to the outcome this season.

The damage is done, Ramsay needs to learn how to park the bus and draw us to safety and if he doesn't (which it looks like he won't) then we're done for.

Or not. No disrespect to Jama Jimoh Aloba but he's not gonna make any difference.

An exception that proves the rule.

We weren't in a Championship relegation battle.

He was signed with Kevin Campbell during the same window, not a player who spent the early part of the season on loan to Blackpool in League 1.

Also, that was 21 years ago!

Just in the last couple of years we’ve had SIJ, Collyer, Dobbin, Sarmiento, Lankshear, that foetus from West Ham…

Not one of them contributed anything.

It only works if they're on the cusp of the first team, Richardson, Harvey Barnes, Romelu Lukaku.

None of these we're bringing in are near that

Also signing those what message does that send out to our own reserve youngster's.

Taylor is experienced
Mepham was a regular in Sunderland's defence last season
O'Leary played every game for a team who finished in the Play Offs
Gilchrist played nearly 30 games for a team who also finished in the Play Offs

Most of our players are experienced in the Championship (experienced being over 100 games in it)
