Interest level in our FA Cup match?

FA cup weekends feel the same as an international break for me, I will watch but not expecting much. There is some added interest that the likes of Bostock and Whitwell should get some minutes and stake a claim, I just hope they are in a side that somewhat reflects a first team and not other 21s and backups. As we’ve seen plenty of times before, throwing our closest younguns into a completely reshuffled team is not a fair way of judging them but still leads to conclusions that the likes of Caleb Taylor are miles off.

My nearest club Weston-super-Mare are playing in the 3rd round for the first time and have a winnable draw vs Grimsby so there is plenty of excitement for that around here.

I'm looking forward to it personally. I love the FA Cup. Not having Mason is a bonus. Good chance to see what some of our youth look like and I believe with Ramsay in the stands you will see everyone busting a gut to prove themselves.

Jimmy and Arbella will have us well drilled.

Still love it and enjoy games that have a defined outcome riding on them. Hope we progress. Only really had 4 or 5 cup runs since 82 (if you count the 5th round as a run) it would be great to have one this year. I’d far rather we win this than the league match

Oh and annoying it’s on a Sunday. What’s the fuggin need for that.

Don’t buy the argument that we should only bother with this competition once we’re an established Prem club.
We were.
We didn’t.

Bizarre time, on a niche channel, in a competition we aren’t going to win or get close to winning…so not much interest past seeing if we play some of the academy players.

I have zero interest, sadly.

Third round weekend used to be one of the highlights of the year.

Now I’m more interested in the NFL playoffs games this weekend.

Back in the day (late 60s, late 70s) relegation seemed less of a worry, so the Cup comps were an annual adventure. Two wins and a good many semi-finals before I hit 30 years old.

Since 1986 we've always been looking over our shoulder at the abyss. Cup runs have seemed a risk and a luxury.

Tomorrow is a bit different. Start of a new era, free of the baggage that Mason accumulated during his underwhelming tenure. No league points at risk. Quite enthusiastic myself.
