Interest level in our FA Cup match?
#1
I know it’s an annual discussion but how interested/disinterested are you in the cup game this weekend?

I’d love to see us win a cup before I leave this mortal coil, but it can only be done in a position of strength where we are in the Prem and safe from relegation.

At the moment we have no chance of winning it so I’d rather go out in a non embarrassing way and the draw in many ways I found satisfactory in that it was so dull that it is completely off the radar to all but diehard fans.

A cup run at the minute with the squad we have is probably the last thing we need.
Happy to lose on penalties tomorrow.

It is a chance to see some of our youngsters, if we play 3 or 4 alongside our better players then we might do well

We might as well give it a go given that we have very little (except for staying up !), to play for now this season.

Kind of hoping there's a bit more effort on display for the round trip to Swansea this time around. COYB  Cool .

I'd just like us to win away.

I am desperate for us to have a cup run.

Fwiw... Think we will see a pretty full team.

Every year we have this discussion, and every year some of us reflect on the good old days of Cup glory, which largely defines our club.
Third round day was a highlight, giving a second chance of success as we saw the league title (top division obs) slip into the distance...
The debate was around which was better - the long term League title, or the greatest day on the football calendar at Wembley. There were arguments on both sides.
Now? Tbh I had to check when we're playing. Partly that's an uninspiring draw, partly a new low in our fortunes, and sadly mostly that the FA Cup is now just not on the same level as the PL.
Sad.

I'd take a nice away win and to draw a PL team at the Hawthornes in the next round. Also adds a few more beans into the coffers. Might not get us enough for. anew player but it would certainly cover a few packs of Manjauro for Boaz and Wildsmith.

I recall seeing Liverpool at the Hawthornes mid - late 90's where they won 2-0. Pesci came close but no cigar. Magic of the cup under bright lights.

The revenue would be helpful no doubt. Dunno what a home game fetches other than av £20 a ticket plus snacks maybe £500k?

Virtually zero. I'd have probably tuned in if we'd have got Ramsay through the door in time to take the team.
