Why 2 Goalkeepers on bench?

I was trying to work this out.
Possibly he is telling the owners he thinks the squad is not strong enough....but what can be done about then between now and January. Maybe he is telling the Under 21s they are not doing well enough to get a place on the bench. Maybe he has absolutely no faith in Wildsmith, but doesn't want to tell the football world by dropping him from the match day squad. Not sure I approve whatever the reason.
I don't buy the 'Possibly he is telling the owners he thinks the squad is not strong enough.' train of thought. I've seen that mentioned before, not just now but over the years when you see odd omissions or inclusions on the bench.
I'm sure Mason will convey how he feels about the squad directly to the owners. I also like to think he's a respectful man and wouldn't play silly games like that. Nestor and the other board members appear to be switched on. They will know where our squad needs improving. They won't need such petty messages to know that. I genuinely believe it's nothing more than giving a young lad the chance to be in and around the match day squad for some invaluable experience. Nothing more. Nothing less.

I couldn’t work it out to be honest, but this makes the most sense, given the substitutes we can now have.

It's not a decision I particularly understand. I've always filed it alongside not selecting a full number of substitutions as a rather baffling thing to do.
In the general scheme of things it's not really something to get too upset about given that a 9 man bench these days gives plenty of options anyway. We were talking about it before the match yesterday and the only logical explanation, as said above, is to give him matchday experience.

Mazza is so used to having J. Wallace on the bench that he has to have J. Wallis on the bench.

There must be some logical reason.I noticed Villa had done the same on Saturday and other clubs have also done the same.Another changing theme is that I think I read that Tottenham kick the ball straight out of play from kick off,I believe Athletico Madrid used the same tactic as well.
