I also feel sorry for that Labour MP.
Back in the day you could give someone a good shoeing in the early hours of the morning in a backwater town.
Now, the cameras will capture all 6 punches from different angles and with sound.
One thing is for sure, the advent of the dashcam has hardly led to an improvement in road manners...
Many moons ago I had a few beers in company with a very well known pop star who said something dynamite in my company about a couple of his band members. If I'd had a microphone on, or video it would certainly have been a major story in a national paper and I would probably have got a fair bit of dosh for it.
I didn't and I wouldn't do that anyhow. However some would. In an era where there's gossip magazines galore and the parameters of celebrity are so wide now any form of celebrity has to be completely on his guard.
I actually feel sorry for Coote, as he is only saying what he feels about someone who has clearly been a bit of a pain in the arse to him. Sadly for him it's someone extremely famous in the footballing world.

Agree with his comments.
But .... Always thought they spelt his name wrong ... missing an 'n in his surname

Any chance this could be AI? I've seen that suggested, but sod me, it looks legitimate to me, if it is AI then that's scary.

He's admitted it's a genuine video.
Despite the flippant (and predictable) comments on here, this is a very serious issue for the PGMOL, they usually brush off calls of bias as fan paranoia, won't be able to do that in this instance.
Liverpool FC will also be looking from a legal standpoint. Cootes' decisions in isolation and obviously hindsight have actually cost Liverpool the title on two occasions given the points totals were so close at the end.
Not completely far fetched than this could signal the end of the organisation at the top level and the Premier League importing top officials from abroad.

It’s fine for Klopp to call him a cheat and shit on him in public but it’s not fine for him to call him a cunt in private. That’s the mad world we will in where those with the higher profile can do what they want .
Just seen the video, I agree! He’s called him a cunt. Refs literally get called all sorts by managers all the time, every bloody week! The worst they get is a sending off.
Really don’t see the big deal.

The candle sales in Liverpool about to go through the roof.

Think he's probably had a few pints and let his guard down. He's then clearly fallen out with someone who took the video or been stitched up by a fair weather friend, who has shown it/shared it to others.
This is the modern world we live in, where everyone is a publisher and if you have any kind of position of authority be careful what you say.
Think he may have been rolling around in the snow moreso than being pissed.

Serves him right for that 'performance' at Old Trafford a few years back. Gifting Liverpools big rivals some nice decisions......

On one hand I agree that this is just a man calling out who looks like a cunt, a cunt. Albeit a little racistly. But insulting someone with a pronoun of their nationality doesn’t necessarily make you racist - it’s the context that does, and this doesn’t look racially motivated.
What it is is completely unprofessional, though. Although he wouldn’t be the first, he’s let a lot go to his head (as well as the powder, clearly) and I guess it shows quite how much and how quickly you can do to severe damage your career by being outspoken about work on social media while under the influence of drink or drugs. When the best course of action, of course, is to do neither.
If he wasn’t so clearly anti-scouse in his vindication maybe this would be less of a story. Personally, I think it’s a sorry story that clearly says a lot less about whoever made it public than a man who should know better, but whom is potentially facing the end of his career over a very poor decision. With that in mind I think he should be just reprimanded and demoted rather than sacked off as a whole, but he’ll have to win over the lower leagues to get back to where he is now which although not insurmountable would be punishment enough.
Both players and managers see referees as lesser mortals too often. That is only because they’re paid far too much for what many of us would love do to, apart from a lot less for what a lot of us wouldn’t do. So my overriding thought on this is, yes, reprimand him, but don’t end his career over it when the game will so quickly die without referees. As much of a coked-up dick as this one has been.
