Because uncontrolled capitalism as we see globally currently is so healthy for the environment, politics and society. I think there maybe somewhere in the middle that is a healthier place to be than where we are currently. I do appreciate that some see acquiring vast wealth is in some way the arbiter of success, happiness and intelligence but then I look across the world to the US and think maybe not.

I started a post about the 2nd biggest economy but figured what is the point when it is clear that capitalism or socialism haven't done it alone. Help from the State and Business has been the biggest driver when they work together. The growth of globalism risks changing that dynamic whereby countries that companies operate in don't necessarily benefit in the same way they did.

China embraced markets. That is all you need to know. Under entirely planned socialism it managed to kill millions instead. I suppose that’s the way communists take people out of poverty, it’s a consistent theme.
