Brentford have already managed to replace Maupay with a striker and a winger from France for £10m, and expect to have Lyle Taylor coming in too.
Quite how with 12 months knowledge that Rondon, Gayle and Rodriguez were unlikely to be here this season we've ended up with 48hours left and trying to loan a couple of kids from West Ham is baffling.
TBF have you seen Brentfords succession planning policy and how its scouting and recruitment team work.
Second to none in our division imo. It's the money ball approach I know but they really know their stuff. Pick players up cheap, polish them up, not afraid to sell and when they do it's usually top whack. They always have players identified to come in to continue the cycle.
We could learn a lot from them imo.
Btrentford's succession planning is indeed second to none, but its not the money ball approach. That was purely based on stats in baseball. That's only one aspect of brentford's approach as the stats only method doesn't work in football (McDonut!). They've said this themselves many times but they get labelled moneyball by lazy journo's.
You're right that their approach is very very good though.
