This was described as a 'bait post' earlier, despite now being the main political story of the week. Further evidence (e-mails apparently) has now come to light, so the 'independent' ethics adviser cleared her of wrong doing following contrition and a heartfelt apology, without properly investigating, asking for all relevant documentation etc. Even if she is vindicated by the new evidence this has turned into yet another crisis for this beleaguered PM.

Looking even more like a bait post now the evidence has been published with Reeves being told that the estate agent would sort it and then not doing it, and now apologising and admitting fault.

Meanwhile, a Tory frontbencher advocated deporting legally settled people because of "culture", the OBR have downgraded productivity projections, the WTO has reported UK trade has collapsed since Covid, a cap on ground rents has been proposed, mortgage approvals have jumped, the government is signalling it will scrap the windfall tax on O+G, the government has announced plans to deal with illegal workers in the gig economy and John Manzoni has called out the lack of public investment into R&D. But no, an estate agent fucking up is absolutely the big story.
