The weird thing is, it would appear many immigrants bought into the messaging.

I can tell you from first hand experience that there is a strong objection to illegal immigration from many 2nd and 3rd generation immigrant voters in the UK.

Self protectionism ain't it.  Haul up the drawbridge.  

Can't comment really.  I am an immigrant but my family were probably Nordic immigrants that came in on big boats and carried big axes.  But I kinda get it.
