As far as I’m aware Wrexham don’t own the pub so that means nothing
And I doubt they sell anywhere near a million shirts a year
Valuation is all smoke & mirrors
When they sell if not in the premier they’ll be lucky to get 35 million

If you take the time to watch "Welcome to Wrexham" on Disney + this will come as no surprise.

It is well worth watching regardless of the football.  The fans have had a shit time of 15 years in the National League and were bust for years until the the Rob and Ryan duo turned up. 

They then employed clever people in key commercial  positions.   and invested steadily and carefully and in effect have now turned Wrexham into a global brand. 

 People come from all over the world to buy a pint in The Turf pub where the club was founded.  Merchandise sales must be huge and the income from Disney will be substantial. 

The promotion year with Ben Foster in goal is great viewing. 

Putting aside any instinct to pour vitriolic envy on a plastic USA media inspired  bullshit fairy story, their fans are not dissimilar to us. They have had a load of shit to deal with, they have maintained the faith and truly love their club.  Any one of us could identify with the long suffering fans that feature in various episodes. 

I doff my hat to manager  Phil Fucking Parkinson.  I doubted he had the nouse to create a winning team in this league, but take a look at where they are and where we are in the league. 

Finally, what the media exposure has done for the town is truly inspiring.  Businesses have opened, the town centre is buzzing, there is a sense of optimism and any true football fan who had the piss taken out of them at the age of 6 because they did not support a Saudi mafia owned corrupt apology for a club, will look on with benevolent envy and wish them well.

It's on Disney+  it is a great watch.

I would also add that the Wrexham shirt collar has the number 266  stitched into it.

That represents the 266 men,  brothers, sons, husbands,  who went to work in the pit and never came back. 

If that does not give you a sense of belonging to a community. nothing will.

If I read it right, in January they sold a single share for £46M to an American private equity firm as a way of investing money into the club without hitting the PSR buffers. This increases the valuation of the club / other shares etc.

I know they are a bit noisy, but I must admit I like the way they have gone about it without pouring shedloads into it but investing in the local area as well as the club. Fair play. Wish they'd come to West Brom instead of Wales tbh.
