Trump
Elon’s aggressive support and campaigning is having a very positive effect on the Trump campaign his recent success with SpaceX & Trump mooting Musk will get a senior cabinet post helping the nutter!!.
However I think polls are over exaggerating Trumps position Democrats seem very happy with the high early voting turnout & high postal votes too.

It’s become almost populist to hate Trump. Most people don’t even know why they do, they just do, because everyone else does. A little like Putin, Jong-un etc. and that’s all OK, these guys are bastards, but it’s all getting a little bit ‘Hate Week’. And he - and his support - play upon this like a flute. When everyone is getting played at the same time by facing the lesser of two evils, rather than the better of two greats.

Still, it happens a lot lately. I’m not saying he’s a decent guy, nor that I admire him. I’d just say go to the parts of America that support both sides before casting a judgement. I’d rather be on the side of the side that didn’t wave a confederate flag at any point, but - yes - it really goes back that far.

The fact that that he's a racist, misogynist, narcissist, convicted felon, compulsive liar, who tried to overthrow the result of an election and described the riot that he incited as a 'day of love' might just have something to do with it.

All these are correct yet some people still defend the criminal. It makes wonder

What a terrible state the country must be when the majority of the electorate can vote him in again.
There's really a book in why this should be the case, but to believe a corrupt dictator is a better option than Harris means all America needs to look at itself.

I wouldn't be so sure.

I said above, polls are swinging between the two, but the general feels us that Trump hasn't and won't gain any new support, while the anti Trump side grows. Sone of his comments do feel like he's setting up to challenge the result when he loses.

I'm not so confident. The only ones I know in the USA seem to think Trump will win. They are in LA, San Diego and some state North Central, I forget. The big problem in this, isn't Trump alone, all those voting for him will still have the same gripes and that is what needs addressing. For me, nearer to home I worry about Ukraine and it's neighbours.

I don't hate Trump.

Just think he would be a terrible president. Not an outlandish opinion given he's already been a terrible president.

You missed found liable for sexual assault, unless you covered it off under "convicted felon"!

The problem is that if you don't like what you've been getting and need changes then he's the only option. It'll happen here if Labour don't address the issues that are pissing people off. Votes here were spread between 3 popular options not long ago which helped the winners. The Yanks only have 2 options. It's a simpler least worst gamble scenario than here

Except that what they'll get if he wins is a dictatorship and pre-determined "elections" going forward.

Their only alternatives are to go with what they don't want or not vote.
