A season of transition awaits

Thing is this can galvanise us as a fan base.

I’ve never been less interested in a preseason but we’ve got to be within 3 seasons of the lowest point now  (buy out depending) and we will now have a chance to remember that The Albion is more than about pissing off the big boys with the odd victory and is all about us as one big Baggie family.

A return to the glory days of Twerton park and league one beckons in the next couple of seasons if we don't turn things round somehow. People point to the likes of Luton doing things on the cheap but they have a decent set up behind the scenes and a recruitment team who have a clue what they're doing.

Remarkable how they waited until folk had parted with their cash for season tickets.

Who Luton ?

Don't think that is relevant here. Can't control who bids and when.

One thing we can say with reasonable certainty given the firesale is that selling the club itself isn't imminent, as a prospective purchaser wouldn't want the squad weakened just before they took over.

We should remember that Carlos left Huddersfield after a disagreement with the board (assuming he didn't already have an offer from Olympiakos) and they'd just been in the play-offs. Other considerations are whether he wants to risk becoming labelled as someone who's prone to resigning and also whether he wants to potentially put his coaching colleagues out of work until something else came along. I imagine he's in something of a quandary if he's angry about the club selling players without discussing it with him.

I’ve never gone into a season with WBA genuinely thinking we could end up in League 1…

Until now.

That season after Ossie left - I thought we might go back down
