Anyone who is overly negative about losing 3-2 to 2nd place when it's the first game in charge for a new manager really needs to give their head a wobble.
I heard reports of boos in the stadium. Not sure if this is true but if accurate that's disgraceful imho. The notion someone comes in an manufacturers free flowing attacking football after three days, with missing players and the current crop of shite defenders is ridiculous.
The man needs a lot time and transfer windows, we've been on a downward trajectory for quite some time. I trust Ramsay to sort this shite out. I did not trust Mason.
Did you hear any boos where you sit?
There was a few from the back of the Brummie at H/T
But they boo every week
No, that’s one game I couldn’t get to with my son having football training after a long break. I’ll be there on Tuesday for sure.
I’d read on X that there were some boos, which is why I wasn’t sure how bad it was. It just seemed a pretty shit way to welcome a new coach to the club in his first home game.
I also have to say, I’ve seen quite a lot of negativity on X, which feels way over the top from my perspective. I assumed that following the change of manager there would be a pause of at least a few games while ER got to grips with the job, tried to implement his system, and worked on restoring some belief in the players. At that point, it would feel far more reasonable to assess how things were progressing under his leadership, rather than doing so a few days in. Instead, it seems quite a few people would rather focus on the negatives from last night — lambasting ER for playing MJ out of position, for not being more attack-minded at home, and also calling out the owners for not acting sooner — despite narrowly losing to second in the league with several players missing.
Each to their own, of course, but there were positives in the performance last night. And he’s a world apart from Mason in how he conducts himself and how he talks about the game.
