Completely agree with the 'pay more tax' principle but I'd like to see it ringfenced to "things I find justifiable" and, ideally for it to be time limited (lol).

I would go further. If you are leaving the country as you do not want to make the tax contribution that you need to make, then your UK passport and citizenship will be taken away from you and you can never have it back.
