Albion sold out of Blocks F and G and four seats deep, from top to bottom, into Block H. The remainder of Block H didn't go on sale.

What it's like going Albion away?
Tempted to give it a crack with the lad (12) but wondering what the bus is like / whether it's better to drive. I assume it's a more hardend fan than normal / noiser. he plays football on Saturdays so might not be until Blackburn but it would be good to give it a go.

I was 12 for my first away game and it was fantastic. 82 an all so still a bit tasty.
Perfect age IMO mate, go for it! Blackburn will be massive an all.

It's 'character building' watching us away ![]() Haven't been on the coach since I was a teenager many years ago but it was fine back then, more flexibility with driving in that you can get there earlier and have a look around if you want.

Jump on the earliest train of the day, take as many cans as you think you'll be able to drink during the journey time, hit the pubs when you get there, go to the match, sleep through that, hit some more pubs after the match, jump on the last train that will get you home, take as many cans as you think you'll be able to drink during the journey time. Job's a good 'un. With a lad in tow perhaps look for somewhere to eat before the game instead. Do your research beforehand so you know where all the establishments are (and the route to the ground ).The supporters coaches are fine. Normally quite quiet. Try and book on one of the higher coach numbers so there'd be less chance of all the seats having been sold / taken when you board. Get on the coach about half an hour before it's scheduled departure time to make sure you and your lad can get seats together. Might sound obvious but those will be your seats going back as well (just in case somebody is sitting in them when you get back on for the return journey). The coaches usually arrive early so think about how you are going to spend your time pre-match. One final thing, don't expect to sit during the match and kick out anybody who is in your seat. Oh, and sing your lungs out. The both of you.

Thanks for the tips chaps.
Thinking to do the bus as we can just take electronics and zone out but I suppose going to Blackburn is a bit of a coach trip. Ofc I'd love to just get absolutely bladdered so the trip flies by but not sure my son would appreciate having to care for his old man all day ![]() I suppose just after confirmation that the coach isn't a rowdy beer bus all the way there and back then I think it works.....or the train. Definitely can't be bothered to drive.

It is illegal to take alcohol on a coach that is specifically taking supporters to a professional football match. That's been the case since Thatcher brought it in in the mid 80's in response to the level of hooligan incidents at the time.

Assuming you get the 9:07 from New Street to B’burn and the 18:37 back, it’s still only around £50 on Trainline (for one adult and one junior). Journey time circa 2-1/2 to 2-3/4 hours each way, though, so make sure you take a large cool box. That’s a lot of supping time. Coaches smell bad and I don’t like not doing my own thing. Tempted by that game also, but driving if so.

The supporters only really got behind the team once we'd scored. It was a cup game against an in form Norwich, I don't know what some people expected tbh.
On away days - 1 car. 2. train, the football specials back in the day were fun! 3. minibus 4. bike 5. coach. |
