That is a bit of a jump to suggest I think that. You may as well label me as a tin foil hat wearer.

You’ve basically said that you don’t want to do everything (lockdowns etc), you don’t want to do nothing (have no restrictions) and at the same time you don’t want to do something (wearing masks). You’ve said that the whole point of the scaremongering press conference was purely to get vaccination numbers up, I’d say that the international scientific community had identified a potential issue and the government acted quickly (I’ve criticised them for being too slow in the past) to put some measures in place and to announce them early. I really don’t see the problem.

I refer you to my previous comment.

It’s a weird ideological problem the Left-tits have; ignoring facts. Take notice of and acknowledge other less sensationalist outlets.

I have to agree Dekka, there are loons on both sides of the debate, it weakens any genuine points you make about the right wing by blaming them for everything.

If marsks are the exit from Covid (they're not) then at least adopt the marsk wearing policy universally. Or is my local newsagent or the empty midday train somehow more dangerous than the pub on a Friday night?

It's just optics. That's all it is.

How about you use some personal responsibility?

I did, I got vaccinated. I got Covid months after being double jabbed.

I'm not comfortable with complying with the random, inconsistent and ultimately pointless edicts from my former Party to help their optics. It's as simple as that.

Hadn’t realised Piers Corbyn was a right winger. Or that Noel Gallagher held ultra-right wing views. How come there is a group a group called ‘Left lockdown Sceptics’ (in reality, the Jeremy Corby supporting, Toby Young) who keep writing open letters against Covid measures.

Just what is it that makes you come out with these ridiculous sweeping generalisations? Oh, of course, blind and rabid prejudice.

It’s one of a number of tools to make a “significant Impact” What is the harm to the majority?

Most of the right wing Conservative MPs… which side of the house has been mainly unmasked for at least six months?

Boris Johnson continually gets caught not wearing one even in hospitals and public transport

I've been wearing a mask independently of government advice the entire time. I do not care about what the government says, I do not need to be told by the government when and when not to wear a mask.

Stop acting like a spoiled child. Grow up, wear a mask.

The logic of a fool - “the way out of this is through vaccines” followed by “I’m double jabbed and still got covid”. So clearly there need to be more measures in place to stop spread especially whilst they evaluate a new strain. Imagine how those more vulnerable than Proth, who could also be double jabbed and got the virus as he did, are feeling.

Just wear the mask and stop being a fool.

RE: UK Covid death toll - Tom Joad - 11-28-2021

I really can't see any problem. Just put a mask on in crowded areas. Is it so hard to do? It makes others feel safer. Isn't that a good thing?

Whilst we are on;
Remember your  “Sick man of Europe, literally” post? It was wrong then even more incorrect now.

Well, “Eleven countries in eastern Europe are reporting more than ten daily Covid-19 fatalities per million people while the UK is down to two.

Austria registered almost 1,700 new cases on Wednesday, it had just seven new deaths per million people.

Likewise, the Netherlands registered 1,384 new cases as of Thursday, the 8th highest in Europe, but had just 2.9 new deaths per million people.

Germany registered four new deaths per million people and 942 new Covid-19 cases.

The UK registered some of the continent’s lowest case and death rates with just 629 new cases per million people with deaths down to two per Million on Wednesday.”

We need to be a little more, cautiously, optimistic  and not constantly delve, myopically, into negativity simply for political dogma and zealous, U.K. bashing.

RE: UK Covid death toll - Ted Maul - 11-28-2021

I'm not sure wearing a mask is a 'restriction' is it really?

RE: UK Covid death toll - Protheroe - 11-28-2021

The way out is via vaccines. I got Covid as have loads of other jabbed folks. By and large it’s the unjabbed lying in hospital beds. So yes, vaccines - not marsks.

RE: UK Covid death toll - baggy1 - 11-28-2021

Only the really thick think it’s one or the other, there is no reason why you can’t do both.
