  5 promotions to the PL

Not sure if anyone knows, but that surely would be a record?

Until I heard it last night, if we go up, we will hold the record for promotions to the prem.

  Let's get that record...

On Sky last night they said that if we get promoted to the Prem this season, it will be the fifth time and a record.

Go for it Albeyun.

Having mates who support promotion rivals
Posted by: Spandaubaggie - 02-20-2019, 05:23 PM - Forum: WBAUnofficial - Replies (10)

Just been on the phone for 20 mins to a mate who is a Norwich fan, season ticket holder, and lives over that way. He said the general consensus with Norwich fans is we're going up as they just think we'll have the firepower. He said they just want Leeds and Sheff U out of the way as they can't see us slipping up.
I have another good mate who supports Leeds, lives in Ireland, and we're constantly WhatsApping as the season develops. He sent a message after last night. We're honest enough to admit we wish ill on each other's teams due to the predicament.
However, I do like Norwich and hope they go up. I sort of admire the way Sheff U have stuck at it too, so would be happy enough if this was the 3 going up. Leeds I couldn't care, as much as I get on with my mate. They have had plenty of success and plenty of pond life fans too who have caused trouble for us.
My three to go up would be Albion, Norwich and then play-offs Sheff U or Bristol C.

  Leeds

Have to play Tuesday against QPR then us on the Friday. Could work in our favour with us having 6 days off for a change! And they follow that with a game against Bristol City.

  Bedlam in the away end

I'm sure it's been commented on and I've just missed it but...

That was one of the best goal celebrations I've been involved in for years. Absolute scenes in the away end last night.

  6/1 to win the league
Posted by: Yacob's Dog - 02-20-2019, 03:43 PM - Forum: WBAUnofficial - Replies (2)

I don't want to jinx us, but 6/1 seems massively generous, imo. If we win this Sat, 6/1 will look huge. If we beat Leeds as well, we'll probably be nearer even money.

When the fun stops, stop.  Wink

Making segments of the season though stats
Posted by: Only one real Albion - 02-20-2019, 03:42 PM - Forum: WBAUnofficial - Replies (6)

Best away form in the league.
One of the recent worst home forms.
Most clean sheets in league since we went back to 4 at the back.
Highest scorers.
Won 4 drawn 2 lost 2 from last 8 equals play-offs.
Won 3 drawn 1 from last 4 equals automatic.
there's a lot to be chewing over.

  Backflicks last night
Posted by: methoxyl - 02-20-2019, 01:30 PM - Forum: WBAUnofficial - Replies (1)

Not since Tony Rees have we seen so many backflicks in one game!

Everyone rightly going about the Harper one but the one for the first goal is a cracker too from Johansson

I do like the fella (though I wouldn't pick him in first choice midfield currently) but fugg me I wish he would pack in his need to come close to a red every single match.
