Last week we learned, contrary to both popular belief and the official data, that UK GDP is no longer lower than it was before the covid outbreak. In fact, it recovered its pre-covid level as far back as late 2021.
Not only that, but the UK was never a laggard among the G7 economies, despite the acres of press coverage devoted to handwringing about Britain's apparently fundamentally broken economy.
