Never seen Dylan live but I’m well aware of his reputation for being terrible live.
If I was going to pick three artists to apply the term “genius” to I’d go for Bowie, Michael Jackson and The Beatles.

You have to bear in mind Dylan is nearly 80 and his voice shattered from playing 250 shows a year for 20 odd years. If you had seen him at Blackbush or at any time up to the late 70's you would have seen a great show. He also can't stand doing the same thing twice. I believe he has been known to change the entire setlist 5 days running without repeating a song. I agree his shows are not as spectacular now but maybe we are expecting too much.

Saw the "Rolling Thunder" documentary a few months back. Would love to have seen him on that tour. Seemed pretty anarchic but some of the clips are sublime.
The Scorcese "No Direction Home" is also excellent.
I can't think of anybody who has had such an impact on both music and popular culture.
Hi is a true icon of the 20th Century.
