Chammy, hope you're managing to stay afloat and positive.
How do the locals feel about the return of tourists (whenever that may be)? Is there a conflict between not wanting outsiders anywhere near the place and concern for their livelihoods?

Fair to say that disposable income for many probably wouldn’t allow it anyway.

Doing fine thanks, on day 21 now. Going a bit stir crazy but getting out for an hours run/walk every day and the weather is good which helps with morale.
I wound say people are massively more concerned about their livelihoods than they are about catching the virus. 90% of the businesses here are based around tourism one way or another. There's been rumours about a staggered end to the lockdown starting 4 May which can't come soon enough. Many restaurants and bars are doing takeaway to try and keep the wolf from the door. The govt help is generous but as with all French bureaucracy fighting through the red tape is very painful.
Obviously my job relies on mostly British tourism so I'm hoping the industry will recover quickly. I can't see people not going abroad for 18 months, that would kill so many businesses.
The alps are accessible by driving but the problem is the Germans, Swiss, Italians and Austrians all have their own mountains to go to. Tourism here is dominated by brits, Scandinavians, aussies/kiwis and then in the summer Chinese and Middle Eastern types.

We are owned by TUI and use their own aircraft for the most part in the winter. I'm hoping the German and Spanish governments won't let them go under. Easyjet have, as of next year, started their own package holidays so were no longer going to allow us to use their flights for our passengers anyway.

All bills to China, only fair IMO. They hold the markers for most of the world debt including the USA.
Simple solution, lets have a vote - I heard you all - Carried unanimously.
