He was so frustrating and it kept feeling like he was going to turn it all around and repair the harm done and get back to his best. Still, what a story if he did that - apologises properly, donates a shed load to local charities, comes to play for free, return to some form, then basic contract with good bonuses for performance - Hollywood movie stuff!!!!

I believe that. It's the"want to" bit that Saido struggles with. 
For a club to be strong it only needs players who want to play. No Saido, no Chadli, no Koumas...
Talent is not enough, obviously.
