He did more for us than you know.

When we stayed up in 1994, on the last day against Pompey, Burkinshaw asked Smith to back Pompey off, and he agreed.

That was told to me as ITK after the game, and I believe it to be true.

Wow - didn’t know that.  

They defo had injuries but the team he put out was v weak. 

I’m surprised as Smith was a mate of Fry too - who had been on the phone to him all week about the match
