After Nathan Jones didn't come off, I thought Stoke would have gone all out for someone with experience of this league. Hughton won't land a Prem job, (whatever he thinks), or Mad Mick. Any way, what do I know? I thought Mowbray, RDM and Big Slav were all gambles and they worked out. Not only would I be underwhelmed at O'N anyway , he is staying in charge for the next two NI games and has contracted to stay in charge of them for the Play-offs in March. No decision about what would happen if they qualify but I would think that is obvious.
Given the state Stoke are in I wouldn't be happy with a new appointment spreading himself so thinly from the outset.
It's causing a bit of mither on the Oatcake too Swag. I suppose there's a difference between what an Albion supporter and the club itself would accept and what Stoke are having to make do with because of their current status. Beggars can't be choosers and all that.
I think Hughton could still land a Prem job TJ. Mad Mick probably feels it would be a bit disloyal to jump into another job so soon (I don't know if we ever approached him).
I'm probably a bit too close to it to work out whether it's still a plum job. The Championship is choc full of ex-Prem teams and they're all looking down at us at the moment. We have loyal, local and rich owners, but they'll now be very limited in what they can spend. There are many ways to look at it I suppose.
