I think the biggest disappointment came after signing all of the crap players from Grimsby, we then had a bid accepted (for a lot of dosh back then), for their captain , and Buckleys' missing piece of the jigsaw......Paul Groves. Couldn't pass, tackle, score, or head the ball. Man, those days were grim.
Have to say though, not as grim as the Saunders era.

Evans the worst footballer I've ever seen at the Hawthorns. Bobby Williamson I thought was ok.

Evans was the worst I can recall, Paul Williams, Paul Dyson and Martin Dickinson come close.

For your delectation I give you one Kevin Steggles.
Oh my God, I forgot about him. However, I`ll raise you a Martin Singleton.

Graham Harby,  Mike phelan, Stacey North!!!

"G" Harbey scored a belter at the Smethwick and North wasn't that bad alongside Whyte.

Phelan was awful.

Phelan was awful.

So bad I typed it twice.

I remember de Freitas scoring on his debut. It inspired the BRE to break into song with "Are you Cyrille in disguise?"

The most compelling evidence in the 'fans know shit' debate.
