I can never blame them for chasing the money. Put it like this - remember the Chiles documentary about Cantello's testimonial? The Vernon fella was a young prospect, one injury in a reserve game, finished.

These players moving-on sets them up for life if they are not stupid. If they stayed with us and got a career-ending injury, they wouldn't be so fortunate. So it is galling from a football perspective that these 'big' clubs poach our players but I understand why they go.

I think we have to take the view that we are doing something right to have them regularly poached like this. There is the added element that, as with Sawyers, there is always a part of their heart that will feel like coming home if they get an opportunity.
