One Season Wonders

In the more recent era there are some obvious loan candidates for this accolade at the The Albion.

Looking back a bit, Arthur Albiston was good for us in the dark days, but only for 88-89, had a good single season, a true professional.

Conversely, there's stacks of one season wankers.

I'm still waiting for some of our players to have their wonder season.

Saudi had that one season where we broke through and scored 10-15 goals. Then his head went and it all went to shit.

Lilwall was one that burst onto the scene was ace and then turned to utter shite. Think injury played a big part in that mind.

Nicky Shorey seemed great for a bit (not sure if it was a whole season) and then seemed to go to crap.

Lloyd Dyer. It may have been only a few games, but it had such a massive impact on our season

"Wonder" doesn't necessarily mean "wonderful"

More likely:

"I wonder why the fuck we signed this twat..." (etc., etc..)
