We scraped a win v Tunisia. Very fortunate. We smashed a team we should be smashing. Lost to Belgium.
We then drew to Colombia, beat a poor Sweden side then lost to Croatia and Belgium, again.
We merely achieved what we should, results wise. Maybe even under achieved.
Obviously on the face of it, reaching the Semi is a great achievement and I enjoyed the ride. But when you break down who we actually beat and who we didn't, the achievement isn't as great as it appears.
Context, as always, is needed.
This from someone who refuses to acknowledge that our run to the FA Cup semi final under Mowbray was fortuitous given we didn’t play one team above us the league until we met Portsmouth. Worra hypocrite!
Haven't you always hailed Pulis' achievement in getting Stoke to the final in 2011?
