So what is acceptable today?

I know we simply have to win, but given our recent form, and the fact our squad is on its knees, what can Ramsay get away with today and start to build some confidence from the fanbase?

He's got some fresh blood though the door, we now have some pace and unpredictability, we have Mowatt and Molumby back fit and having trained with the team, and he's had a full week on the training ground again.

As much as we desperately need a win, I'm just hoping for a line-up and approach that suits the players we have. A system that gets the best out of Mikey, and for our back line to look organsied.

And, I really don't want to see a Stoke goal inside the first 20 mins...

That would at least be fugging progress.

The weather's been terrible for the past 2 weeks, which will have inevitably affected the quality and maybe the quantity of training. Nevertheless, as Eric outlined in the pre-match interview, we have to make a positive, front-foot start to get the fans onside and hopefully the players and the fans can lift each other once a positive base position has been established.

It may well be raining during the game too, so it's unlikely to be a classic regardless of anything else.

Defending our box effectively and creating some chances from open play would be a start. There is plenty of football left but we have to start seeing some evidence of buy in from the players and that something that can win us a game of football is being worked on in training. Another Pompey/Norwich-esque performance and it will be difficult to stick with him

I'll settle for a solid battling, passionate display, up and at em type stuff. Quality can be forgiven... And hopefully we win, but a draw would be acceptable if we show the bottle for the fight.

I honestly thought that we had state of the art indoor facilities gor covering such weather issues? Or did we flog it? I lose track.

I think this is about right. A functioning plan to stop us shipping soft goals, and optimism we may be able to score some would be a start.

It feels like we’ve had to perform so much better to win a game of football than our opponents have for years now.

I’m not sure getting the best out of Mikey is an option with him being an injury doubt.

A team that plays to our strengths and minimises our weaknesses. Don’t care about 3 or 4 at the back if we play 3 in the middle and Styles and Celia as WBs. Would love to see Dike get a start.

And the fans, us, create an atmosphere pre-kick off to get the players going and to try and get behind them as much as possible. If it’s a Norwich or Pompey performance give them everything the deserve at the final whistle.
