Something that has been overlooked is the fact that we possibly were willing too sell him is somewhat of a worry isn't it?
We're up to our necks in it and if we'd sold him, our best player this season, where would that have left us regards this battle?
It seems he decided to stay, but nothing about the club blocking it.
More sales of assets to balance the books at the cost of keeping us up? Isn't this a worry?

Think that was bad? Wait until the Going Down Firesale kicks in, in summer.

Where does Johnston fit in under this Manager?
I'm not going to argue against him being an important player for us, and the assists/goals are evidence of that but he isn't an easy player to accomodate in the team. People are saying he needs to be on the right, but to get him putting those balls in for Heggebo from the right he had to be forced into playing there in a disciplined way which he hasn't really carried on after that small flurry of games. The other component of that little period was Isaac Price playing in the 10 and linking up play between Heggebo and Johnston but in general, johnston an price have no relationship on the pitch and barely even pass to each other.
He's incredibly frustrating as a player because he takes players on and scores some worldies but he also has some really poor decision making in the final third, loses the ball way too often and can't be relied upon to track back or make challenges. Earlier on in the season, he really struggled to play on the right, and when he's struggling you see far more of his mistakes than his talents, either losing the ball trying to take too many people on, drifting out of the game entirely, or, more often, making poor fouls in dangerous areas.
Maybe he could adjust to playing behind the striker, but I don't think it's suits him. He wants the ball at his feet, not to be going into duels. I would expect if we continue to play the way we are he'll end up being an impact sub. I don't think we're going to play in a way that works to his strengths.

Here we go again anything to knock the club, are some of you sure your WBA fans because all you seem to want to do is find a way to knock the club. None of us have any idea what happened regarding any player willing to sell who knows he wanted to stay who knows, big bust up because we wouldn’t let him leave who knows, Molumby bust up who knows. Yes we’re in a bad way at the moment but it looks like a lot of you are enjoying it.
Get behind the club instead of making out all these conspiracy theories.

Goldberg's podcast also mentioned interest from Sheffield United. Never saw that in the news myself.
Monday was always going to be a tense team meeting. I wonder if we're going to see a Megson-style "bomb squad", with players frozen out completely? I'm guessing Mikey is vulnerable because he's good but doesn't fit the system, Molumby because he will no doubt tell Ramsay what he thinks, and maybe Price because he seems a mardy twat and we have two potential replacements.
It's not helpful to have strife between players and coach. Barmy Bobby's team slid spinelessly into Division Three and worked very hard to stay there with a 7th place finish. Darren Bradley has always claimed "we were good enough to get promoted". More recently, Pardew was never taken seriously by the players - look how that turned out. Worrying times.

Don't be an idiot 13, no-one is enjoying this. You're taking out your frustration on posters having a chat about their club. Calm down, man!

It’s hardly a conspiracy theory and a totally valid point to make. It’s not a wild rumour.
It’s stated that he turned them down which begs the question why did we not snub the offer rather than the player have a choice.
What a stupid reaction. Let’s all smile and act like it’s roses in the garden.

I agree with you wba13, it's reached the stage now where some people are searching through the woods trying to find any stick at all that they can use to beat the club/directors/coaches/players with. It's getting to the stage of mass hysteria now and an unsupportive, toxic atmosphere will only help to bring about our demise and see us in League One next season.

Can't criticise the club, can't do silly rhymes. It's a narrow church, that wba13 inhabits.

He's our best player, and it's been shown time and time again that selling your best players and replacing them with equal or better is a difficult task. If we get rid of Johnston we might as well just give up now

We haven't got rid of him, he's still here!
