...to take my dad who is nearly 80 to watch the Albion play Stoke this weekend?
My brother lives in Scotland as he plays keep the dots apart for Air traffic control at Prestwick and he normally gets down to the Midlands once a year. A few months back, I said to him when he pops down this time that he should come to a game with my son and I who are season ticket holders at the Albion. To make matters worse, we also had a brainwave and decided we could kill two birds with one stone by taking my dad to the game, it chalks up quality time with him whilst also allowing us to watch the game.
The only problem is I now feel like a complete shit for subjecting him to watch these muppets try and play football via Ramsays insanely boring formation.....On a mildly positive note there will surely be a lot of goals but on the flip side they'll not be for us and he'll witness just how shit we are first hand. It's very possible he may never want to watch a football game again after this. In fact, if it unfolds as I expect it's possible he may never want to see me again!
He's not an Albion fan, he's just coming along to watch a "nice game of football" - It's a mess......I've just not got the heart to tell him it'll not be nice and the atmosphere will be toxic as hell.
I fear I will have ruined the day of three generations via an afternoon out at the Albion. I should have just booked a table at the chicken dippers for us all.
