xG…

We won that game 1.34-0.89 on xG if it’s any consolation.

Jokes aside, I’ve never known a season where opposition sides are scoring with so many low quality chances… we simply have to get a better keeper.

Did notice this - pretty crazy.

Actually underlies why it’s a decent start - really shows when teams are giving it away / not finishing their dinner.

Easy to blame a keeper who's playing behind an unsettled, inconsistent, disorganised, confused and low on confidence defence that has a different combination of faces in it each game.

Bonkers.

Yes it was bad. But no where near as bad as the meltdown deserves.

We have a big task now. We have fallen really into a relegation battle. We need to start firing and scoring goals, that confidence can spread through the team and all seems better.

I think this is probably our worst result for at least a decade. The meltdown is 100% valid

If it was Wildsmith, I wonder whether the slack would be given?

Easily our worst result in 25 years given the league positions involved in the match.

I was talking about the game as a whole. Yes the result was horrific.

Tonight? I'd have given him some slack, because none of them I'd expect a keeper to save, because for all of them, the defence made it so, so easy for the striker to finish them off too well.

No. The point is Griffiths is 'one of our own' and asset we can try and develop. We have had countless threads about the virtue of patience with young players. We can't pick and choose when to apply it.
