Griffiths - 6 - Nowt to see

Mepham - 5 - Weak in the challenge and struggled on the ball.
Phillips - 6 - Couple of good clearances, some poor passing.
Taylor - 5 - Poor

MJ - 6 - Struggled at RWB tactically. Did fine defending 1v1 when needed and never stopped trying though, will come out with some credit from Ramsay for that I would think. Better when moved to inside left. But had already tired by then.
Bielik - 6 - Did a job in there and was a vocal leader, better at CB.
Styles - 7 - Grafted and played forwards, one Ramsay will really like.
SIJ - 7 - Best game for us. Amazingly in his preferred position. Promise.

Price - 8 - Grafted like a mad man, scored a great goal and ran the show when he moved deeper.
Heggebo - 6 - Couple of bits a good link up play, astonishing work rate, poor finish.
Grant - 7 - Superhuman shift, running wise. But and miss in possession. Want to see him deeper at RWB or at CM.

Subs:

Jed - 8 - Grafted, but in a couple of good crosses and scored a great goal.
Maja - 6 - Better, some cute link up and more graft.
Campbell - 6 - Needs to start at RCB.
Dike - Not on long enough.

Ramsay - 7 - Extra mark for the huge amount of work he must have done in a short space of time to change the team and  proper game management. Good feeling.

Would agree with all of that except Taylor, who was a 4 at best. Can just about forgive him for the OG but was turned inside out too many times.

Probably held back on them because it means having to admit SIJ played well.

Good write up mon.

CT a 4. Could JG have narrowed the angle more for the 3rd. Seems to struggle with presence

Waa it a 3-4-3 then? I've read a few different interpretations of what we are now.

Price was poor for 60 mins. Then clicked into life when dropped deeper/free role when Maja and Wallace came on

Phillips gets a 4 from me. Directly responsible for 2nd and 3rd goals. He was the man who could and should have made a decisive tackle for the first and gone with the scorer's run for the second. Watch the highlights FFS Sake!! Mepham and Taylor get pelters on here on a regular basis but Nat Phillips gets cut far too much slack.

Just an aside here - both Phillips and Mepham have a bad habit of pushing up to where an opponent is receiving the ball back-to-goal but not making any challenge. Is this a bit of Mason coaching, "Don't make a challenge if you risk conceding a free kick"? 'Twill be interesting to see if they lose this dangerous and costly habit.

I thought Bielik was poor in central midfield. Slow to close down.

Agree pretty much. I'm a bit unsure as to how Grant will fit into this system though.

Think the scores for the defenders are too high considering we conceded three goals across the course of the game.
