That is exactly the kind of site that should be built on. Bounded by housing on two sides, no green belt value whatsoever. It’s telling that so many objecting to it live on the “Camberwick Green” Cala estate - self awareness is obviously even less of a thing in Hagley than I thought it was.

What’s really put the cat amongst the pigeons is that this has come in before the local plan is anywhere near ready. Largely because Bromsgrove have been stupid enough to let housing supply in the current plan period dwindle to 2 years.

Those local housing plans aint worth the paper they are printed on

Recent Panorama discussed them & research showed something like only a 3rd actually have one

The housing minster also confirmed there are zero consquences for not having one!

If developers apply to build on land not allocated within the plan and refused for that reason
They appeal to the planning inspector, who resides on the moon & most likely will overturn anyway

Still building 1.5 million houses come next election makes a greatt soundbite

We don’t have enough development sites nationwide. Bromsgrove DC hasn’t got more than 2 years supply in the current plan period. Developers are perfectly within their rights to point to this and submit speculative planning applications.
