Molomby

He’s just a Sean Flynn clone isn’t he. Absolutely zero quality on the ball, headless chicken, does stupid things but puts in a tackle so gets a cheer. I’m tired of watching the clogger in the middle being the box to box player. Our central midfield has held us back for too long - Collyer has to be given ten games to see if he is the answer. Mason needs to grow a pair and play the following team

Griff

Gilchrist
Mepham
Phillips
Styles

Mikey
Collyer
Mowatt
Price

Maja

Very harsh on Molumby. He's an international midfielder, regularly playing for ROI. He's integral to how we started well this season, the good form we had under CC last season, and then the play-off season in 2023. He a good midfielder, that disrupts the opposition. I also think he's a better player with the ball than you give him credit for. He's obviously no Xavi, but he does keep hold of the ball and starts off attacks. His shooting has also improved recently.

I have no opinions on Collyer, one way or t'other, he may be the next big superstar in waiting, he may be complete dogshit, for all I know. But I've seen nothing from him in the limited cameos to suggest he's worthy of pushing either Mowatt or Molumby out of the XI.

I'm frustrated at the two defeats v Derby & Boro, but there's nothing terminal that needs fixing ASAP. We've played well and dominated large parts of those two matches. I don't understand the clamouring for a player with little league experience, to replace players in a lineup that has started the season well.

San Marino have central midfielders that play International football. ROI are fucking shite and he didn’t even get in their last squad. The fella is a carthouse.

Total rubbish. He's far from a carthorse. He was probably our best player against Derby. He's far from bring a Xavi, or whoever, but he does bring a lot to the team.

One issue is he’s not a AM and can’t play forward, hes no creativity whatsoever he looked out of place last night , he’s good IMO at playing deep and breaking things up and just being an annoying disruptive shithouser.

Molumby is a proper 100% player. Every squad in the division would love to have him but he does lack quality. Last night was a prime example. Balls pinging off his shin pads, poor touches that got away in good area's, simple through balls not played etc. He lacks vision to play as a forward.

For me he is great to have in a battle or come on when things need livening up but I do think we need better in the 8 role and he is certainly no 10.

In summary I love the blokes attitude and he has qualities that are needed throughout the season and in certain games but for me he shouldn't be starting.

FWIW I liked the look of Collyer last night and was impressed with his array of passing last night and also noticed how vocal he was organising players around him.

I'd like to see him given a go personally.

Agree entirely.

Collyer is there ... he needs to be a given a chance to see if he is an upgrade on Molumby. Not critcising the latters value to the team, but sat with Mowatt he offers nothing significant to a side that is lacking in creativity and moving forward.

Guess the question is would you start Collyer alongside Molomby or Mowatt? Personally I think Molomby offers more cover / protection to a newbie and would go Collyer Molomby.

I think the biggest question for me is why some of you feckers can't be bothered to spell Molumby correctly while you're slagging him off.

I like Molumby and he is an asset in certain games but the problem last season and again in this one is the balance of the squad and in particular midfield. He is not technically gifted, doesn't create and doesn't score yet is tasked with being the furthest forward midfield player. Collyer looks a tidy player but I'm not sure he will solve any of these issues either. I cannot believe we didn't use some of our funds to address what has been an obvious issue for years now. God help us if Price gets injured
