What’s the story here?

0-0 for ages in a home game we should be looking to win and he doesn’t come on until the 83rd minute?

Feels like something is off. Surely if he’s fit enough for the bench then he’s fit enough to come on sooner.

And when he did come on he didn't play up front.

Yup - he’s been on the bench since the start of the season, whilst he didn’t really feature in preseason, he’s had 5 weeks now… he should be fit to start, let alone come on after 60 mins.

There’s definitely something untoward here.

I’m hoping that, until today, there’s been no reason to drop Hedgehog, and it’s clear Ryan prefers one up-top to advance the midfield into the attacking phase.

It didn’t work today and we were pining for someone of Maja’s predatory instinct. I also hope that there’s nothing more sinister going on, but if there were then surely he wouldn’t even be featuring.

Grant is the bigger worry. Where is he? Did he arrive in the second half by pigeon?

Grant got injured pre Stoke. 4 to 6 weeks out.

From what I've seen so far, Heggebo is  good 'outball ' player away from home. Holds the ball up well, turns central defenders and draws fouls (if the ref's up to it). However, at no stage today did I think there was any chance that he'd score, which, let's face it, is still a pretty important part of a centre forward's job. He might still come good as he adjusts to the pace of the Championship, but I'm yet to be convinced.

Grant was sat in the East Stand today with his young daughter

I can only guess he's not 100% fit.

That being said, Heggebø hasn't done anything to get dropped and deserves his place, so the starting lineup isn't a concern.

I can't see a reason why you wouldn't have brought Maja on a little earlier - so it has to be the fact he's still carrying some form of injury. But, why is he on the bench? Maybe our options are that limited, and he's to be used in emergencies only.

It is a little weird.

He’s not carrying a knock. He’s been on the bench every week since the start of the season. He’s played 16 minutes of football so far this season. This time last year, he was already on 5 goals. It’s poor from Mason.

Assuming both players are equally fit, then Imo you start with whoever is most likely to get you a goal. That isnt Heggebo, it's Maja
