Seeing photos of the Woodman corner scoreboard reminds me that I used to go to Reserve games on Saturday afternoons in the 1960s.
Travelling in the train from Blackheath, we would walk from Rolfe Street as the Halt was not open except on match days.
The scoreboard would display the first team score and update it every 10 or 15 minutes. This was a big deal in the days before instant news. You had to wait for the teleprinter on TV at 4.45.
We usedto have a good laugh at these games and either chatted with or tried to wind up the away keeper, if he wouldn't communicate.
