On brief but clear inspection, Leeds and Sunderland are miles more likely to stay up than the 3 sides who flopped last season. Both look very competitive.

Far too early to be making any judgements. I recall Blackpool winning 4-0 away in their first game in the PL. Luton looked competitive a couple of years ago before falling apart. I think there is a fair chance Burnley will struggle most of the 3 as so much of their strength came from their defence last season and they can't rely on that this season. For any of the promoted sides to have a decent chance of staying up they will need a lot of their new signings to be successful. Even when the likes of Wolves have struggled in recent seasons they still just have that extra quality to pick up wins when needed.

Apart from the opening 15 minutes salvo Leeds have been shit.
A dubious penalty doesn't disguise how poor they've been.

Leeds have had a soft landing tonight with an Everton side that are missing 3 of their first choice back 4 I think… Sunderland looked more impressive but again, West Ham were woeful.

37 games to go, far too much football to play to start making predictions, but I really don’t see where Leeds’ goals will come from.

I don’t think it’s early to make judgements. Just watch the games.

Did any of the bottom 3 last year beat anyone 3-0?

It's one game in Big Grin

The media overreaction to, an admittedly poor, West Ham defeat is laughable. Talk of Potter going and being out of his depth, how West Ham are in trouble, and how angry 'ammers fans are, is fucking ludicrous.

Lots of media love in for Sunderland, because, I don't even know why. These one City North East clubs seem to attract the masturbating media frenzy. It's quite weird, really.

Let's see where they are at Christmas, when the table takes shape, and you can actually make reasonable judgements.

This time last year were were all getting a bit carried away, it's way too early to make judgements. Wait until near the end of November

Sunderland have a shout but promoted teams are always at their best for the first 6 games or so before the hope and confidence is crushed by the size of the gap they are facing.
