Improving match day experience

For those who have been complaining about the match experience or the lack thereof, you may find this interesting:

I can't really comment, as my match day experience is running up Halfords Lane 5 minutes before kickoff and I only eat at the ground if Squid Jr has brought some sweets along. However, it does look like some thought has gone into attracting people to spend more time at the ground.

The post game bar with football on TV and food on sale is a start. I'd say they need to offer good products at decent value to compete with the pubs in the town or in Brum but it's a welcome initiative.

Will the 200 fans that are usually at the game come the final whistle attend?

Might be decent to grab a pint or half pint after the game just to avoid the bloody train queue before heading into the JQ or West Brom

I didn’t post as it wasn’t worth a thread in its own right, but I know one of the chefs at Leeds United and, my God, do they do things differently up there!

As well as two restaurants on site (6 courses, microherbs grown in temperature controlled cabinets on site, that kind of ponciness) they’re opening 2 indoor bbq/grill restaurants and are aiming to go from 4000 sit down customers to 5000 next year - per home match. On top of that they rotate different style gyros/kebabs through their kiosks like Nepalese, Argentine etc.

Very different. More of a London club thing that a Northern thing, dare I say…

It's a shame it closes fifteen minutes before the end of the game they are showing

Villa have Brad Carter doing hospitality services at the Seal Sanctuary, doing kebabs of all things.

There's a Greggs Outlet in Princes End.

Maybe we could have a satellite branch in the outdoor SME area for HT wonky vegan sausage rolls.

I don't want to come across as shitting on the club for trying these things, but I don't think hanging around after the game in the East Stand concourse is very attractive, especially when you're 10 mins away from the centre of Brum.

Could we not open up one of the function rooms within the East Stand, and make a proper bar area for fans, serve well kept draught beer and chef made meals from a proper menu?

The queue for a beer in the fan park is even worse than the Vine
