If anyone just watched the Sussex Stakes, the inquest into how a 150/1 shot that was supposed to be setting the pace overturned the field is hilarious

British and Irish senior jockeys are pretty well immune from criticism. The market leaders allowed the pacemakers to build up a long lead off a slow pace, making it difficult to catch the front runners on that downhill track. At least Sean Levy, to his credit, admittedĀ that he should have won the race if he hadn't given the leaders so much rope. The commentators skirted around the issue, as they usually do.
