I was reminded of that quote by the Gambhir v Groundsman spat and "you're a groundsman, just a groundsman".
Years ago we maintained a site in Harborne. Plagued by illegal parking and at their wits end, the owners finally employed a clamping firm to remedy it. It did, brutally. The operative was a beast, shaved head, tatts, muscles on his muscles and spent every working day facing down aggressive victims before taking their money before releasing them. I kept well the right side of him. I was working there one day when a well known local villain, fancied himself a bit of a gangster, horrible sod, turned up, parked and went to a restaurant and got clamped. When our clamper turned up to collect and release him this villain asked Do you know who I am? To which the clamper replied "I doh gi' a fuck who yo am, pal, its thirty five quid". After the briefest stand off ever, the money was paid. I still smirk thinking about it now.
