The view from the Opposition - Plymouth

Absolutely ad-festooned dog's breakfast of a forum to wade through. Birdman - never, ever be shy about asking us for money, it's amazing what we have here.

About the match, I'll add that if you're having to debate that much if something was a penalty, it probably wasn't. For all the unhappiness yesterday, this match is starting to sound a lot like the team lost their heads after an unfair penalty.

Diangana picking the space between the back 3 and Houghton/Randell. Danger there for us.

We need to equalise before WBA score.?

As evidence of just how hard this league is, the Sky commentator said at the end of the first half that West Brom haven't won successive games since August.

Let’s not forget we’re playing a well drilled West Brom side but this is doable if we sort our attacking options out.

How is Styles not booked for that?

This ref loves west brom. Any 50/50 he gives them

This ref has given us nothing… every 50/50 he blows up for them

Wallace shoild be sent off

The Baggies starting to turn the screw
Keep going boys

Never a penalty! But I'll take it... C'mon Hardie!! ???

Such a soft pen, but we’ll take it. Thanks, Ref.

Of course it was a penalty, he handled it in the box

Really confused at the takes, his hand is up in the air - it blocks a goal bound shot, how can it be seen as a harsh penalty? It’s been the position for years that arms in those areas are going to cause prnalties

Deffo a pen, his arm was in a unnatural position in my opinion

Tony Moanbray doesn’t think so!

Off his chest first. Pretty sure that’s no pen.

After a shot had ricocheted of the lads face and onto his arm! I think we deserved the decision because of how bad the ref has been, but it was NEVER a penalty! COYG!!

Well done boys a fabulous backs to the wall victory.

West Brom must be absolutely devastated - they were marginally the better side over all and got mugged by some scottish bloke..

Sometimes the luck falls for you...often when struggling, it doesn't... but you take it when you can.
Probably not a penalty
Probably offside for the second.

That’s all you can ask from the greens, they left nothing out there and scraped for the win, against a side that will probably make the playoffs,

Watching Tony Mowbray on Sky - he is not a happy man regarding the penalty we were awarded :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
How many times have this season have we had bad decisions go against us

I have a lot of time for Tony Mowbray but he's just been borderline John Coleman levels of bitter on Sky.

Interesting stats. Despite WBAs dominance, same shots on target and same touches in the box.

To be fair he did acknowledge that he doesn't really understand the handball law. Where I thought he was a bit sour grapey was when he said "It's not the first time I've come to Plymouth and absolutely dominated but lost".

Gutsy performance, full of grit. Largely kept WBA to side passes.

Sky after match commentary kept on on on and on about unlucky WBA . It was a penalty he handled in the box and he wasn’t offside.

Its the big Club thing that's all SKY are obsessed.

That defence were playing together after one day with each other against a top side.

Agreed. The panelists said penalty, 50-50 and Joe said definite. Then a five minute interview with Mowbray telling him it was harsh/wasn't a penalty.
Immediately thought it was a penalty. Where would the ball have gone if it hadn't hit his outstretched arm at head height? Certainly heading towards goal.

Just watched the replay. 100% penalty. The players arm.was sticking out 90 degrees from.his body, almost like it hit his face and arm at same.time so 100% a pen. Unlucky but arm should not have been sticking out like that.

Not the replay I watched... I'll take it! But I'd have been furious if it had been given against us

I love the capitals (TWO) - WBA were the better side however we outworked them - and out fought them.

But we dug in and ground out a win against a really terrific side today. The quality WBA have is impressive. Such a tidy side in possession.

Very early days, obviously, but that's 4 points we've taken from Sunderland and WBA, two of the best teams in the division.

fantastic win in a very sporting "clean" match with the baggies extra player, the one with the whistle, doing everything he could to set up a winning goal for W.B.A.our very skillful opponents were good on the ball but our defence were resolute uintil nikola made a mistake

Well done to the players for their effort and guts.Anybody who saw ian fosters side lose to the baggies 0-3, in a dispiriting display just over a year ago will k now that the players in our team today 'out west brommed, west Brom'- and,for me, that's a real achievement ..

We saw some pretty possional football from WBA but no guts no drive and no commitment,

As part of the Alex Palmer appreciation society, l have to firstly say everytime l see him l don't understand why Premier League clubs aren't looking at this fella. A Keeper who commands his area and, God forbid, catches the ball. He is top notch.

I couldn't believe against a top 5 side how organised we looked. We restricted them to very little until maybe the second half where 10-15mins before their goal they started to get a little headway into making opportunities.

Interesting that both sides thought the ref was poor. He persisted in allowing their players to constantly pull on arms and shirts without a card. Overall they defended better with only a day together.

The ref annoyed them with a few throw-in decisions but I thought he have them more than us. Often by giving nothing for their pulls and leaving their foot in on occasions.

They were borderline over physical at times and he let that go in their favour many times, then follow it up with a soft one.
