weren't we all expecting a difficult season.
The watchwoed was we fans need to be patient with the team, because the fall out from the financial difficulties that the club had, had to deal with would inevitably effect performances on the pitch.
What happened to that patience?

It inexplicably disappeared in the autumn when we had a barren run in front of goal despite not losing many games and remaining the in the PO spots.

Good post.
A year ago there were genuine concerns about the future of the club after years of bewildering mismanagement.
FFP has severely damaged our ability to rebuild as well.
None of this even takes into account the problems of replacing a manager who had navigated a tough couple of years extremely well.
I’m just glad we have a competing club at the moment and have kind of written off this season as playoffs are a bonus but nothing more.

If we make the playoffs, someone win them then this squad could set records in PL.
Within all the rules: FFP, PSR, capital introductions etc how much, should they be inclined to, could the owners put into the club?
To stay up I think half a dozen of this lot could make the squad depth up, can’t see anymore than that.

Bringing in a large number of players in the summer, followed by the fantastic start we had, led to euphoria amongst some fans. Then came the period of draws which fans tolerated as “cc has a lot of credit in the bank” was the common phrase on here.
Then CC walks and we’re still restrained by PSR in bringing in additions.
A few bad results with a new manager (who doesn’t have recent credit in the bank) and the pent up disappointment following the great start to the season and the realisation that half the summer signings weren’t as great as initially hoped, has come to a head for a few.

Just going to remind those who seem to think that we can build a squad at a snails pace in this division that can win promotion and be Prem capable, that the ONLY time in 30yrs that we have won promotion from the Championship without a massive financial and in turn squad advantage was under GM.
The longer you languish in this crappy league the more likely you are to be the next PNE or Blackburn.

Keep ignoring the bleeding obvious people, we make very little from ticket sales, our commercial, non football related income stream is a drop in the ocean and one incredible season where SGM performed a miracle to get us promoted aside we have no record of success without Prem money.
Let’s stick to the Championship for five or so seasons in the forlorn hope we build a Prem ready, young, hungry team, playing swashbuckling football.
