Grant

Reading Mogga's comments about Grant and Johnston, it seems like Grant is going to struggle to make the 1st 11.

Feels very harsh on arguably our most consistent player of the season so far. If that's the case, I hope he doesn't lose the mojo that he clearly found under Carlos.

I agree. Up there for POTS.

It is a pity, but MJ is clearly a bigger threat and better fit for how Mogga wants to set us up.

Grant has turned his Albion career around admirably this season and he'll still offer a threat from the bench if his head doesn't drop.

That said, I think most people saw this decision coming a mile off.

If he isn't going to play, see if we can sell him. It would probably be PSR neutral by now, and might give Mogga some money to operate with.

This is all guesswork.

Grant was in front of Dang this season and it is only since the loss of Maja that Dang got in, and now Mogga likes the more technical player. I think Dang will go this window if not then, if his years at the Albion are anything to go by, his form will drop as the season ends. Grant will get his chance again.

Meh, disappointed for him, but if he doesn't fit into Mowbray's style, then at least his form this season has increased his value.

Shows a little of our depth in that position when we've got MJ, Grant and Fellows, whom would get into any side in this league as a wide forward.

If the season ended today Grant gets my POTS vote - he's been excellent and very much a beneficiary if CC's robust and organised style, but such is football, players come and go, and managers favour players over other players. There will be winners (Grady?) and losers from TM coming in (Grant?) and tweaking things. It's how it goes.

I won't lose sleep over it.

It isn’t PSR neutral yet.

Agree with rich it’s somewhat harsh but comes back to the point on another thread. CC motivated some and switched some to flat battery. Mowbray has the same effect but more who he gets firing than suffer. Grant may be the biggest victim of that but the side, overall, benefit, and that’s what counts

You don't know if it is PSR neutral, unless you know how much he will be sold for.

Unless you know something we don't?

Because of the way the instalment per year process works, and the fact that he can’t be sold for an amount that offsets that. Why do you think he’s still here? Given his wages.

It can probably only be understood by the top end account experts on here tbf. No slight on you.
