The away coaches left AFC Bournemouth's ground at 2am this morning for their 12.30 k.o at Newcastle.

All so that a few fans in Asia can watch the game at a time that's good for them.

Shocking.

I really don't think that's the reason for this time slot.

It's more to do with tv not being able to show live football when the Saturday 3 pm games are being played.

Did they push the coach for the first 3 hours?
6 and half hour journey. Set off at 5.00am earliest

They should be just getting past Walsall by now, if they’ve pushed hard.

They should take Dave Holloway on loan for the rest of the season.

The 12.30 kick off has existed as part of the TV deal for years now, it’s nothing new. It’s actually TNT who have that slot these days and they’re the ones who have decided that Bournemouth need to travel all the way up there first thing in the morning.

There should really be a rule against making fans travel too far for morning or night games, but that would presume anyone cares about them.

Problem with the official coaches insisting on arriving two hours before KO at all times.

I don't disagree with that.

Although whatever time Bournemouth play Newcadtle, it's a long inconvenient journey fir away fans

But tv companies should take into account the journeys of the away supporters when working out tv schedules.

But the bottom line is, without live tv, the Premier League wouldn't be able to attract the best players, and indeed our best homegrown players would move abroad to play.

Fans have no control over this, but the reality is this, they can have football played in the main at Saturday 3pm, watching players of lesser quality or they have football at inconvenient times but played by the best players in the world.
