Unless Forest have actual evidence of corruption against Stuart Attwell, he’s likely to become rather wealthier.  Their initial tweet was viewed by 27 million people, causing massive global defamation of character.

They can call him incompetent, useless etc and that’s totally subjective and no issue.  But to infer very clearly that he was corrupt and a cheat massively exposes them to a huge legal claim.

Obviously if they do have proper actual evidence of his corruption then that’s a very different matter altogether, but Attwell’s lawyers will be all over this.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see the officials’ union take action over this too, for example going on strike.

People have to realise that making libellous comments has consequences.

Yep. They’ve been bang out of order and deserve to pay the consequences.

Astonishingly cruel to be outed as a Luton fan in such a manner.

VAR needs going in the bin now. Why ever did they think that the subjective opinion of yet another referee would prevent other referees from making such howlers? If anything it's worse as they watch the slow-mo replays and still get big decisions wrong.

Forest's comments have been the sort of stuff Trump comes out with.

Would love to see them go down now. Preferably as a result of a highly contentious decision.

And yet you just know, that in their last game of the season against Burnley, they will get a decision go their way which keeps them safe.

Even if they do finish in the bottom three they'll unleash a tide of legal challenges and nobody will actually know what's going on for ages.

Surely there is some kind of agreement signed up to when you are promoted that basically says - ref (including VAR)'s decision is final?

Therefore it's just tough shit and down you go...
