For £111m according to reports this morning. Absolutely insane fee on the basis of one good season for Brighton. Whoever has been doing transfer negotiations for Brighton over the last year or so really is an absolute master at screwing every last penny out of clubs trying to buy their players.

“One good season” feels a little unfair. He’s been good for them for a couple of years now, has played at a World Cup and is regarded as one of the best young defensive midfielders in the world.
£100m+ sounds a lot but he could sit in their midfield for the next decade.

Football really has gone mad. To think they couldn't afford Bellingham at that price just a few months ago.

He played 8 games the season before and was loaned out to Beerschot in the Belgian league so he has only had one full season in the Brighton team.

When you compare with what Rice went for this is a crazy fee that Brighton have extorted...
I think Caicedo is a fabulous player, and I can't believe more clubs weren't in for him when he left Ecuador. He was hardly a secret and most of the big clubs had scouted him, crazy nobody threw £5m at him.
