Just got back.

A lot of negativity around (I understand most of what has been said, but it's one game!).

I've stewed on it and I don't think we played bad at all. I thought we pressed well and forced Blackburn into a lot of errors (they were poor today, but I'd argue we harried them into being poor). We created a number of good chances. Molumby should have scored, Wallace (I think) had one blocked on the line (potential hand ball?) stand out. To create two clear cut chances, and more, as well as score is a good sign.

CC got the selection correct, for me. Try and judge the selection at KO and not after. It's easy to criticise in hindsight after the event.

I won't cover the defending, that's been done to death.

Man of the match, BTA. He ran them ragged all afternoon.

Plenty to be positive about IF we can somehow bring in a centre back or two and clean up the costly errors.

I'm off for a pint or ten. Good day all.

Carbon copy of last season at Blackburn and many games under Bruce at the start of the season. Played ok. Let down by sloppy defending.
Not all convinced the selection was correct. Kipre makes too many errors. And I've not seen Chalobah play well for us once.

People go on about our lack of a 20 goal a season striker but the defence is just as big if not a bigger problem. Can't see this back 4 keeping many clean sheets. Wrecks confidence too when you're continually leaking cheap goals

As above, errors in defence sloppy play in the middle some good buildup play ,and same as last season no finisher ,pluses for me was JS when he came on ,tricky pacy with the ball under control .negatives ,don't play Kipre /Ajayi together and a very lazy performance from Swift when he came on .

Got back around 7 30 and sat and reflected on the match, first half, for 20 mins we were all over them then a couple of mistakes by Townsend ana Palmer for first and a minute later by Kipre and Palmer bang were 2 down and chasing the game.
Palmer was beaten way too easily at the near post for both goals. Thought there should have been a foul before the first goal and we could have had a pen at 0 0. Kipre well I will say no more poor all game along with Okay and Wallace. Surprise inclusion Chalabah I thought did ok. Second half started well again and our best player Phillips scored an excellent goal.we then should have scored a second through Molumby. But Blackburn then had 2 great chances which the somehow managed to miss. Subs swift and TGH were crap, the new boy looked promising Mowatt looked good and for me should have started and we looked more solid at the back with Bartley on.
Not all doom and gloom Palmer hope just a blip ,and defensively we need a decent centre half wether it can be Taylor or a new player .  Also with Maja to come in there is still optimism.

Thanks for the report. 2 or 3 of the right incomings would help massively as we've got some decent players let down by some who aren't good enough.

Concerned by Wallace and his loss of form. Swift showed why I think we need competition for his place, has ability but doesn't show it  consistently

Pretty much how Neil Lennon described the game on soccer saturday.. I was quite surprised at the negativity on here tbh, although I idn't watch it obs.

The OP sounds like too many matches from last season, even early days of Bruce (and yes I wrote very similar in the early days). We never seem to get the rub, and just never seen to be quite good enough.

I did think that if Button had conceded those two goals he'd have been slaughtered on here. Particularly for the second.
